Treat Rough Skin, Blackheads, and Clogged Pores With Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a popular skin-polishing technique. Crystals are projected onto the surface of the skin, bombarding dead skin cells, while a light suction gently lifts the dead skin cells off the surface of the face. The result is refreshed, clean looking skin.

What Are The Benefits Of Microdermabrasion?

Rejuvenates uneven, rough, sun-damaged skin
Cleans up acne, whiteheads and blackheads, opens clogged pores
   and minimizes enlarged ones

What Can I Expect During The Procedure?

The procedure is quite simple and produces significant results. Crystals are projected onto the skin under pressure; the stream of micro-crystals cleanses the surface. It is very much like "sand papering" the skin's surface, in a very uniform manner. A mild suction vacuums away the dead outer layer of the skin through an attached hand piece. After just one treatment, your skin will have a fresh pink glow. You will see improvement with each treatment! The treatment takes about 30 minutes with little or no discomfort. Since there are no harsh chemicals or anesthetics used in this technique, one has no down time. You can return to work or social activities immediately.

How Often Should I Have Microdermabrasion?

For optimum results, it is recommended that 4 to 6 treatments be performed about 7-10 days apart. Having a microdermabrasion performed on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule is a great way to maintain clean, healthy skin.

Are There Any Side Effects Of Microdermabrasion?

Possible side effects of Microdermabrasion are minimal and are temporary. Depending on sensitivity, the skin may have some puffiness and redness immediately after the procedure. These effects are greatly reduced or completely gone within a few hours. Microdermabrasion is not recommended for people who have Rosacea or facial redness and/or broken capillaries of the face.

Is There A Way To Make Microdermabrasion More Effective?

At Spa in the City, we customize every microdermabrasion based on the particular needs of the patient. Some patients need a glycolic or other light chemical peel; others may require a specific type of mask. These treatments will help enhance the effectiveness of the procedure giving you better, longer lasting results. Only a trained aesthetician can determine what your specific needs are.
